Meet the Project

130 Women aims to explore the contributions of local women to the place and society we live in today.

This Goldfields Women's Health Care Centre project, led by four local artists will work with the community through a series of residencies and community engagements to create a collection of works recognising women from our local history.

These women's stories will be told through written and spoken words complimented with various visual art forms.  The collaboration of artworks will be presented to coincide with the 130 year anniversary of Kalgoorlie-Boulder in 2023.

In its infancy, the 12-month project has received support through funding from DLGSC and Lotterywest through the Creative Communities Covid Recovery Program, with further sponsorship opportunities available as the project evolves.

Our growing list of supporters and partners includes; William Grundt Memorial Library, Museum of the Goldfields, Sandalwood Family Centre, Eastern Goldfields Historical Society, St Joseph's Primary School, Goldfields Rep Club, Artgold, Our Gems, South Kalgoorlie Primary School, Golden Mile Art, and Triple M.
